Characterization

Using in-house setups light curves can be measured with an accuracy of up-to 60ps standard deviation. For this purpose the light curve is being sampled as an arrival time histogram of single-photons, as measured with an IDQ ID-100 avalanche photodiode (ADP) at low occupancy. The APD time stamp is registered relative relative to a trigger pulse with a time-to-digital converter based on a TI TDC7200.

In addition, using a high precision photodiode in conjunction with a custom picoamperemeter the average photon number per pulse can be measured.

These measurement setups are used to generate characterization reports for every single build light source, but may also be used to test the performance of light sources as provided by customers.

An example characterization report can be found here.
