An increasing number of applications (such as the characterization of single-photon detectors, quantum optics and time-resolved luminescence studies) require ultra-fast light sources with picosecond to nanosecond light curves at a wide range of wavelengths.

Using a simple but reliable avalanche transisitor based electric pulse driver, compact and affordable light sources  with interchangable wavelengths are offered for these applications. Using LEDs, nearly arbitrary wavelengths can be realized with sub-ns timing precision. In conjunction with 850 nm VCSELs, light curves as short as 100 ps are achieved.

Each module comes with an individual characterization report, detailing the timing and intensity characteristics of this module.
